Access learning my way at CrE8ive Place

Welcome! Thank you for visiting.
My name is Peter Ovens. I am the "originator" of CrE8ive Place.
After cycling the Wild Atlantic Way to the northernmost tip of Ireland - Malin Head, I was windswept, saturated (later hyperthermic) and smiling. I had just had a wonderful conversation with a mother and daughter team who ran the teashop next to Carrickabraghy Castle. During the torrent, I was their only customer and a euro short. They gave me the most comforting warm cuppa. The journey is the destination they say! I had arrived. I was exposed to the wilderness and the beautiful people. This, combined with the fact I had completed what I had set out to do set a self-satisfied grin in place. When riding alone you talk to people and, usually, they talk to you. It's a pleasure.
Earlier on the trip...the idea of making a creative place for people to stay first came to me. I was passing through Ballyshannon. I happened to be wearing my self-designed RG t-shirt and there he stood, right in front of me. Now I'll take you back to the boy of fifteen, enjoying a rare moment of uninterrupted bliss, tuned in to Radio Luxembourg when I was "tsunami'd" by Rory Gallagher ripping it up on his Irish Tour. "Bull Frog Blues!" Hooked on rock, rhythm and blues since. So blame this on divine intervention if you like. Now how did he find it? Right time, right place, right culture? Talent, hard work, inspiration, bravery and the blues. He had it.
Where can talented young people find their element today? The beautiful island of Ireland is one place perhaps (see the Muireann Bradley clips for their latest prodigy). However, for many, this is a most distracting world. It's not the right place, not the right culture, but it is the right time!
I'm now putting this particular idea to work before I risk degenerating into some kind of "superconsumer coma". Not going there.
I am here with this little project and who knows where it will go? Someone else might like the idea and that would be great. Enthusiasm is infectious they say. So don't hesitate to get on board. Previously, often lent on my intuition and creativity, sending rockets through ceilings, riding my motorcycle out of store cupboards. Things like that. I'd use various tricks to get the party started.
Under pressure, and in my 'flow' was when I was at my best. So please know what you think about all of this. I welcome constructive criticism. So far there seems to be quite a lot of enthusiasm for the idea. With your help over the coming weeks, I will continue to adapt and improve it. There is nothing quite like this and I believe there has never been a greater need for it than there is right now.
What do you think? Please email me or answer a few questions.
.
Kindest regards, Peter
